I have a valid C+R. If I am at a gunshow in another state, can I simply present a signed copy and purchase a C+R item, right there. Or do I have to have it mailed to my home address?

As long as you and the item are legal in both States it is legal. The 03 just requlates the interstate part.
Yes. From the BATF web Site.

"(F12) May licensed dealers sell firearms at gun shows?
Generally, a licensee may sell firearms at a gun show located only in the same state as that specified on the seller's license. However, a licensee may sell curio or relic firearms to another licensee at any location. The transfer of NFA firearms may be lawfully made only upon an ATF approved transfer application. [18 U. S. C. 923( j), 27 CFR 178.100]"

I know it reads "dealers" and it would be so much easier if there were separate FAQ's for each catagory of license.

Most welcome. That's the best answer I can give. Should be tottaly correct. YMMV, of course. Standard dislaimer, I'm not an attorney ( tho I did got to law school for a year or so-played cops and robbers for almost thirty years ) and don't play on on TV ! (G)
