Is there a restriction in PA on the purchase of C&R handguns? If so, can anyone provide a cite or a URL? Thanks |

No there is not, Pa is strange you can use your C&R at gunshows and 01 dealers for C&R hand guns just as you do in the mail but if you buy a long gun from a Pa dealer or distributer there is the Pa. instant check and the long gun must be registered with the state. |

Well, I know that's not correct. From the PS State Police FAQ: Who needs a background check relating to firearm issues in Pennsylvania? Under most circumstances Federal firearm dealers are exempt from a Pennsylvania Instant Background Check. (The exception would be a licensed collector (type 03 license). Regular handguns and long guns sold over the counter to a dealer who is a licensed collector would require a background check. Licensed collectors would not need a background check to purchase guns classified as curios or relics.) http://www.psp.state.pa.us/psp/cwp/browse.asp?A=15 &BMDRN=2000&BCOB=0&C=34765 This stuff must confuse every one ;)
