My father brought back a french Berthier carbine from WWII, and I am looking for some ammo and the manlichter style clips for it. Can anyone help? |

You'll need to determine if the weapon uses three-round clips, or five- round clips.Then try Gun Parts Corp. for clips. As for the ammo: try Navy Arms or Old Western Scrounger.

Are you anywhere near Radcliffe, Ky? I went to the National Machinegun Shoot there last year. I found a dealer there who had 8mm Lebel. It was .40 a round.I don't remember what the name of the dealer was, tho. The shoot this year is April 11,12 and 13. I will find out the name if you want to buzz me back after then. I have a 1917 Berthier long rifle. |

I found two boxes from a gentleman in texas $45.00 a box, 1960's sport ammo. the Berthier I have has the N stamp on the barrel and reciever. I have heard you need the modified (post 1932) model to fire sport ammo. I found 5-round clips at marstar canada for $6.50 each. My father will be 81 years old next month , I have restored the Berthier, as well as a mauser 98 he took from a german soldier. I am going to have them ready for him to shoot for his birthday. He has never fired the Berhtier, and hasent fired the Mauser in 40 years. He sent them home inside a spent artillery shell, He was in the 12th armored division. Thanks for the help!!
